RETURNING TO OUR ROOTS
IS THE ONLY WAY FORWARD
WATCH THE TRAILER
The documentary starts at the end of the civil rights era with the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and tracks the 50-year journey taken by black Americans on the two different roads they have traveled since that iconic time.
Depending on the road they selected (or unconsciously followed), that decision would impact the lives of their children's children. A large percentage of the population took the path that led to an Afro-centric, secular and political activist journey and the smaller and often unheard population took the path that was taught by their parents and grandparents rooted in the Christian faith (faith, family and education).
The 45-minute film travels both paths through the lives of people that journeyed the two seperate roads and even stories of lives of people that crossed over to recover their broken lives.
The message from I AM A VICTOR is what the title implies, a story that leaves the audience with a sense of hope for our country and hope in the future of the black community that is centered on faith, family and a better education for their children.
